The task for converting this V6 1999 Ford Mustang from a single exhaust to a dual exhaust began with a small challenge that we decided to conquer ourselves. In order for the car to look "right" (as speedbump put it), the old bumper had to be removed and the GT-style bumper had to replace the V6 bumper.
First, the bumper had to be taken off the car. One would think that this would be relatively easy. WRONG! The kind people at Ford made the bumper almost impossible to take off. Many rivets, plastic pieces, and a lot of bolted-on parts held the bumper to the car.

After about an hour, the bumper was successfully off the car and the next task was to take the rivets out. The rivets were little metal pieces that held the bumper and other littler components together. That was hard. Many tools were used in an attempt to remove these metal pieces but ultimately, a drill was used to bust the rivets off.

Essentially, the plan was to use all of the old parts to put the new bumper back on the car. But that didn't work out so we had to make a hardware store run to complete this small project. It only took a little over 2 working hours to finish everything.
With the new bumper successfully on, it was time to complete the look.

Speedbump obtained GT take-off exhaust pipes and two Flowmaster 40-Series mufflers and had them welded on by a professional. Unlike the GT Mustangs, the V6s do not need the H-pipes, therefore, there are just two straight pipes on this Mustang.
